About the Role
Kangaringa Station is seeking a skilled and motivated Livestock Person to join our team based near Keith/Bordertown, SA. This full-time, permanent position plays a key role in the care and management of our livestock, supporting both the sheep and cattle operations within a large-scale, mixed-farming enterprise. This role is open to applicants from as little as two years' Livestock experience through to a livestock manager/overseer.
You'll work closely within the Livestock Team to ensure animal welfare, assist with daily husbandry, and contribute to general farm and infrastructure maintenance.
What You'll Do
- Handle and care for livestock, including sheep and cattle.
- Perform animal husbandry tasks such as health checks, treatments, and feeding.
- Assist with mustering, drafting, marking, lambing, and calving.
- Support shearing, crutching, and seasonal livestock programs.
- Maintain and repair fencing, yards, and water systems (troughs, poly pipe, solar bores, leaks).
- Operate farm machinery, manual utes, and motorbikes safely and efficiently.
- Participate in general property maintenance and farm improvement projects.
What We're Looking For
- Previous hands-on experience working with livestock (sheep and cattle essential).
- Competence in operating motorbikes, utes, and general farm equipment.
- Sound knowledge of animal husbandry practices and farm safety.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Current driver's licence.
