We're looking for well-rounded Heavy Diesel Mechanics with underground mobile plant experience who want stability, solid money and a clear pathway to sign over with our client after a successful probation period.


The Opportunity
  • FIFO from Brisbane or Sunshine Coast
  • 8/6 roster – days & nights
  • Paid 12hr shifts
  • 6-month probation with Falcon Diesel, then sign over to the client for those who meet performance and site requirements
  • Working across a range of underground and surface mobile equipment for a leading mining operation

What you'll be doing
  • Carrying out mechanical repairs, servicing and breakdown support on underground and surface mining equipment
  • Working across load & haul, ancillary and support equipment (e.g. dump trucks, LVs, loaders, tool carriers; drill & charge rigs experience highly regarded but not essential)
  • Performing diagnostics and fault finding using OEM/computerised diagnostic systems
  • Completing preventative maintenance and defect management to site standards
  • Working safely within site procedures and contributing to a positive team culture

What we're looking for
  • Trade qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic (Australian recognised)
  • Minimum 12 months underground mobile plant experience (UG truck/loader/ancillary – drill experience a bonus)
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Familiarity with brands such as Sandvik, Epiroc, Normet, Volvo, CAT (or similar)
  • Ability to work rostered shift work (days/nights) in a FIFO environment

  • Ability to obtain/hold:

  • Current National Police Clearance (within last 6 months or willing to obtain)

  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical & drug/alcohol screen

OEM background/training and experience with diagnostic programs will be highly regarded.
