Logistics Intern

Allyn International is currently looking for a Logistics Intern to join our organization Allyn is a privately-held professional services firm established in 1992. What does aLogistics Intern do?

The Logistics Intern  is responsible for learning all aspects of the cargo routing process. Primarily you will be learning logistics activities to meet business fulfillment requirements in parallel with the goal of transportation cost reduction. The position is responsible for collecting and communicating all necessary information related to upcoming and ongoing shipments, projects and services, as well as providing logistics support when needed.

Position Details:

Location:Adelaide, AUS

Work Schedule:38 hours, 8 AM-4 PM, Monday-Friday (some weekend / after-hours support may be required)

Position Classification:Full-Time; Salaried Exempt

Compensation:Measured based on Experience + Superannuation

Physical Demands: Sitting, typing, standing, walking

Work Environment:Office Cubicle

Candidates must be Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents of Australia and furnish a Valid National Police Check upon hire.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• 1+ years experience in professional supply chain management, logistics, or transportation
• Experience or Classes in both Australian Domestic and International Logistics

Ideal candidates will have the following:

Responsibilities:

• Work with local team leaders to coordinate, and oversee, and participate in day-to-day logistics operations and service:
• Route cargo in compliance with legal, regulatory, and customer requirements
• Coordinate shipment routing, carrier selection, and documentation
• Use and maintain Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and other client systems
• Track and trace shipments, update records, and proactively manage delays
• Ensure compliance with DOT, Hazmat, over-dimensional permitting, and international shipping regulations
• Issue accurate shipping documents (e.g., invoices, packing lists, certificates)
• Monitor and ensure data integrity and quality in logistics systems
• Track and resolve freight claims
• Provide excellent customer service to Allyn customers
