Job Description:

We are looking for talented Shopify Developers with deep expertise in creating and customizing Shopify themes to deliver high-performance, conversion-focused e-commerce sites. This role is crucial for several upcoming projects, including custom store builds, theme migrations, and adding advanced features to existing client sites.

With multiple projects starting soon, this is a fantastic opportunity for developers who thrive on variety and enjoy flexible, hybrid freelance work.

Hustle will provide detailed project briefs and designs. You'll be responsible for translating these into robust, scalable, and efficient Shopify solutions, utilizing your skills in Liquid, modern frontend frameworks, and for custom backend integrations. Bonus points if you're experienced with AWS and serverless functions, as some projects may require complex third-party integrations or custom applications.

If successful, you will be added to our contractor network, giving you access to ongoing freelance opportunities with Hustle Agency. Where opportunities arise, there is potential for high-performing contractors to transition into full-time roles with the agency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, customize, and maintain high-quality Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML5, CSS/Sass, and modern JavaScript (e.g., using frameworks like or React within a theme structure).
• Implement pixel-perfect designs, ensuring cross-browser compatibility and mobile responsiveness.
• Integrate third-party applications and APIs (e.g., payment gateways, fulfillment, subscription services).
• Build and maintain custom backend services and APIs using and to extend Shopify's functionality and manage complex data.
• Optimize Shopify stores for speed, core web vitals, and conversion rate.
• Collaborate with designers and project managers to refine requirements and deliver polished, commercial-ready solutions.
• Stay updated on the latest Shopify platform features, development tools (e.g., Shopify CLI), and e-commerce best practices.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Developer with a strong portfolio showcasing custom Shopify theme development and complex e-commerce projects.
• Deep proficiency in the Shopify ecosystem: Theme architecture, Liquid templating language, and the Shopify API (Storefront and Admin).
• Strong expertise in frontend technologies: HTML5, CSS/Sass, and vanilla or modern framework-based JavaScript.
• Backend proficiency in (including or similar frameworks).
• Experience with version control (Git) and deploying/managing code with the Shopify CLI and version control systems.
• Strong understanding of e-commerce best practices, conversion optimization, and site performance.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and time management skills to meet deadlines on hybrid projects.
• Bonus: Experience with Shopify Plus features, Headless Shopify (Hydrogen/React), or AWS/Serverless functions.
