The IT Systems Engineer requires a range of skills and experience with a strong background in the Microsoft technology stack, as well Hypervisor technologies etc. The candidate must have a positive work ethic, with the initiative to always learn new technologies when required, as well as being able to work effectively in a remote work environment.
The successful candidate will be required to work within a small team of BAU and project team members to deliver ICT and IT security related projects. The candidate will be involved in the design, implementation and administration of such systems during their project lifecycle stage, and also into BAU.
Essential criteria
- Experience supporting Windows Server and desktop environments.
- Experience with Microsoft Endpoint Manager (previously SCCM or Intune) developing and managing Windows operating systems using either on-premises or cloud instances.
- Experience application packaging of desktop/server software.
- Experience documenting build processes and user/administrator operating procedures.
- Experience supporting and implementing Microsoft infrastructure roles and services including but not limited to DHCP, Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policy.
- Experience in Windows and application patch management
• Experience in administering Office 365 & Azure tenancies - Experience using or managing VMWare infrastructure
Desirable criteria
- Experience in administering or implementing Microsoft 365 Defender (also known as Advanced Threat Protection)
- Knowledge of deploying infrastructure as code using Azure Bicep
- Experience administering Citrix virtual apps & desktops or updating Citrix or VMWare VDI images
- Experience in automating common IT and system tasks with PowerShell
- Experience in Docker container administration and deployments
- Experience using Jira by Atlassian
