Section Waiters – Postino Osteria, Summer Hill

Postino Osteria is Summer Hill's traditional Italian neighbourhood osteria. It's a wine bar. It's a restaurant. It's an intimate events space. Since opening in September 2024, we have proudly received a Chef's Hat.

Casual and affordable, yet uncompromising on quality, our menu celebrates Italian cuisine at its best — from snacks and pastas to daily specials — all paired with a curated wine list and cocktail program.

We're now seeking experienced Section Waiters to join our team at our 120-seat venue, catering for à la carte service, group bookings, and special events.

We have casual, part time and full time positions available for the right candidates.

What we're looking for:

  • Bubbly, engaging personalities with a love for Italian hospitality
  • 12–36 months premium dining experience as a section waiter (or Diploma in Hospitality)
  • Premium dining experience must be from fine dining restaurants
  • Current NSW RSA & full working rights
  • Excellent attention to detail, grooming standards, and ability to thrive under pressure
  • Experience using POS systems & great rapport-building skills
  • POS systems experience must be specifically from restaurant environments

Bonus points if you have:

  • Italian food & wine knowledge (pairing experience a plus)
  • Hospitality studies completed
  • SevenRooms or other reservations system experience
  • Italian language skills

Your role will include:

  • Managing your own section during service with confidence
  • Delivering an exceptional guest experience through menu knowledge & recommendations
  • Liaising with FOH & BOH to ensure seamless service
  • Handling dietary requirements, orders, billing & payments with accuracy
  • Preparing your section for service and keeping it stocked and clean
