Your part in our UnitingCare Community team

We are currently seeking to appoint a Gambling Help Community Educator to work as a part of our Gambling Help Service based in Rockhampton supporting the Central Queensland region.

This position is max term until 30 September 2026 with consideration given to part-time or full-time hours.

This role will provide community training and information with a focus of empowerment and resilience outcomes for client, family and community wellbeing within the Central Queensland region.

What makes a difference for us?

You will need experience and confidence in developing and facilitating tailored community education programs and activities for safe gambling, with a focus on empowerment and resilience building by providing strategies and awareness of current needs and issues which facilitate early intervention outcomes.

In addition to the above you will also be required to have:

  • Minimum Certificate IV in Community Services or Equivalent
  • High level of computing skills, with demonstrated knowledge and experience in the creation of workshops and presentations
  • demonstrated knowledge and experience in the creation and delivery of workshops and presentations in a variety of settings such as Health, Community, Correctional and Educational Departments.
  • Ability to quickly establish sound and trusting working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to manage and prioritise a variety of complex tasks concurrently with minimal supervision
  • Current QLD drivers' licence
  • Suitability Card for Child Related Employment (Blue Card)
