The Opportunity:
· Full-Time | Ongoing contract of employment.
· $145,000 per annum + salary packaging + travel allowance + 12% super

The People & Culture Business Partner will support the College in achieving its strategic objectives by maximising the capability and impact of our people. This newly established position will play a vital role in addressing internal and external challenges to build a sustainable, resilient workforce and facilitate all core HR functions, including strategic planning, cultural initiatives, capability development, OHS, workforce planning, talent acquisition, recognition and engagement, performance management, and workforce relations.
Reporting to the Business Manager, the People & Culture Business Partner will continue to establish high-quality human resource services across Warakirri College, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and consistency. You will provide expert advice to the Strategic Leadership Team and staff on employment conditions, remuneration, leave, and organisational policy. This role will have responsibility for ensuring accurate HR administration and timely delivery of employee data and payroll processes. A key focus is improving HR systems, processes, and data insights to support decision-making and enhance the employee experience.
As the People & Culture Business Partner, you will:
- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with Warakirri College's purpose, values, and strategic plan.
- Provide high-level advice and guidance to the Principal and Strategic Leadership Team on workforce planning, organisational development, and change management.
- Design and implement initiatives that promote staff wellbeing, diversity, and retention.
- Lead the performance review and professional growth processes to support reflective practice and continuous improvement.
- Manage end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, and induction processes for teaching and non-teaching staff.
- Oversee employment contracts, role descriptions, and workforce structures.
- Ensure compliance with all employment legislation, including the Fair Work Act, Work Health and Safety (WHS) laws, Child Protection legislation, and relevant awards or enterprise agreements.
- Provide expert guidance on staff relations, disciplinary matters, and grievance resolution, ensuring a fair and respectful process.
- Keep abreast of developments in employment law and the education sector, ensuring the College's practices remain current and compliant
To be successful, you'll have:
- Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field; postgraduate qualifications and AHRI membership desirable.
- Extensive experience in HR and payroll operations, with strong knowledge of employment agreements, awards, employment legislation, and HR policies.
- Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to develop capability, drive performance, and foster collaboration.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, using HR data and workforce metrics to support informed decisions.
- Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining an 'employee' Working with Children Check and a valid Police Check.
