The Role

Our client is looking for a proactive and experienced Waste Coordinator to join the team in this newly established role. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead the delivery of high-quality, efficient waste services for our community, while driving continuous improvements and managing key waste-related projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and inspire the Waste team to deliver high-quality, efficient, and sustainable waste services.
  • Drive innovation and promote environmental responsibility across all waste management activities.
  • Take ownership of key waste projects from planning through to successful delivery.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget, making a real impact on the community.
  • Champion improvements in waste collection, disposal, and recycling services.

The Candidate

  • Proven experience in supervising or leading a team.
  • Strong knowledge or hands-on experience in waste management and related regulations.
  • Competent in MS Office (basic to intermediate level) to support daily operations.
  • Sound understanding of Work Health and Safety (WHS) requirements.
  • Experience managing contracts and ensuring compliance.
  • Previous experience in a Local Government setting, with qualifications in waste management or environmental science, highly regarded.
