Manager, SI Governance

About the role

  • Provide expert advice to the Director, Governance and Improvement and SI Executives to embed effective project, program and portfolio governance across SI
  • Design and implement governance strategies, frameworks, and processes that enable the successful delivery of School Infrastructure's projects, divisional plans and achievement of desired outcomes.
  • Advise the Deputy Secretary and School Infrastructure Executives on project, program and portfolio governance, in an infrastructure setting, supporting high-quality, collective decision-making on strategic objectives.
  • Lead a team to deliver organisational and project-driven data insights that guide executive decision-making and support the achievement of School Infrastructure's priority outcomes.

An opportunity to lead the establishment of School Infrastructure's dedicated governance team, stewarding project/program/portfolio oversight, cost control, and risk management as our division delivers on and enables the Plan for NSW Public Education.

About you

  • Experience in a similar role with a strong background in portfolio and project management methodology
  • Demonstrated experience engaging with and influencing stakeholders at all levels
  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Essential requirements of the role

  • Tertiary qualifications or relevant knowledge, skills and experience in finance, economics, business management or related discipline.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
