About the business and the role

Adnought has progressed to become one of the largest metal manufacturers in Central Queensland today.  Now boasting two workshops extensively equipped with modern machinery, we also maintain the capability and equipment for onsite construction and installation work.

Our expertise extends to all types of metal fabrication, from the safe design and development of sheet metal, stainless steel, aluminium, copper, and general steel, to the manufacture and installation of stainless steel commercial and industrial kitchens, structural steel fabrication/erection and equipment repairs for the mining industry.

Job tasks and responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Laser / Plasma Operator to join a busy & established fabrication workshop . This role will be based in our North Rockhampton workshop & will be a minimum of 40 hours a week - Monday to Friday.

*** WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING ***

  • Operating CNC Plasma / Laser cutting equipment
  • Producing / Design CAD drawings
  • Loading materials into machines
  • Monitoring output to ensure accuracy & quality standards are met
  • Wrapping, labelling & preparing finished parts for dispatch
  • Performing basic upkeep of equipment & maintaining a tidy workspace
  • Assisting with general workshop duties as required

*** MUST HAVES / WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR ***

  • Experience operating CNC Laser / Plasma Machines
  • Experience with CAD software
  • Ability to read & interpret drawings / job instuctions
  • Sound knowledge of metal materials eg: mild steel, aluminium & stainless steel
  • Current LF Forklift Licence
  • Strong safety focus, reliablity & punctuality
  • Physically fit & capable of handling workshop demands
  • Ability to work independently & within a team
  • Strong organisational & time management skills
  • High level of accurary & attention to detail
