About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Manager to lead safety strategy and culture across multiple manufacturing and distribution sites. Reporting to Executive Management this role combines strategic leadership with hands-on engagement, driving initiatives that protect people and strengthen organisational safety performance.
Based at the Brisbane head office, you will support sites nationally through regular engagement, inspections, training, and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of WHS strategies, systems, and policies across all business units.
- Partner with site and operations leaders to identify hazards, conduct inspections, and implement practical safety solutions.
- Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, injury management, and WorkCover obligations across multiple states.
- Oversee incident investigations and corrective action plans to prevent recurrence.
- Coordinate safety audits, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Guide and support workers' compensation and rehabilitation processes to ensure safe return-to-work outcomes.
- Deliver effective WHS training programs and promote ongoing staff engagement.
- Provide clear and insightful safety reporting to senior leadership, highlighting risks, trends, and improvement opportunities.
Skills & Experience:
- Certificate IV in Workplace Health & Safety (Diploma or higher desirable).
- Minimum 10 years' experience in WHS leadership or advisory roles, ideally within manufacturing, logistics, or industrial sectors.
- Strong knowledge of WHS and WorkCover legislation across multiple jurisdictions.
- Proven ability to influence, engage, and foster a strong safety culture at all levels.
- Experience driving continuous improvement and embedding safety-first behaviours in complex, multi-site environments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
