Chef / Cook – Hybrid Café & Takeaway Role

We're looking for a versatile and reliable chef/cook who can confidently step into a dual role across our busy café and takeaway shop.

This is a hands-on position suited to someone who can work independently, adapt to different service styles, and enjoys variety in their week.

About the Role

  • Café shifts: 2 shifts per week (mostly Fridays & Saturdays) preparing classic breakfast and brunch dishes such as eggs benedict, veggie stacks, and other café favourites.
  • Takeaway shifts: rotating roster across lunch and dinner service, preparing burgers, seafood, and spit-roasted chicken.
  • Food prep: some prep work will be required, though much of this is already managed by existing staff.
  • Customer service: occasional assistance with service, supported by front-of-house staff.
  • Collaboration: the opportunity to work alongside another chef in the café to showcase your menu skills.
  • Roster: availability required between 6am – 9pm, 7 days on a rotating roster.
  • Award pay rates: Paid in line with Restaurant Industry Award and Fast Food Industry Award, depending on the shift location.

What We're Looking For

  • Café kitchen experience (essential) – confident preparing breakfast and brunch dishes.
  • Takeaway or fast-food experience (desirable) – but not essential if you're willing to learn.
  • Ability to work independently with strong time management skills.
  • Willingness to assist with prep and service as required.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety.
  • Flexibility to move between café and takeaway operations as rostered.
  • Own reliable transport.
  • A positive, can-do attitude and commitment to delivering consistent, quality meals and a welcoming experience for customers.
