Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Westpac Group Full time $150,000 - $200,000 per year

Job Description

  • 24-month fixed term opportunity to support high-impact risk initiatives in Group Treasury
  • Flexible hybrid working – combination of working from our Sydney office 3 days a week, and home
  • Join a growing and new team driving change and shaping the future of recovery and resolution planning

What's the role?
Join a high-impact second line risk function supporting Group Treasury in managing capital adequacy risk across the Group. As a Senior Manager/Manager in the Recovery and Resolution Planning Risk team, you'll provide oversight, guidance, and challenge across the Group's Recovery, Exit and Resolution Planning processes.

You'll work closely with senior stakeholders, contribute to regulatory submissions, and help shape the future of risk management through data-driven insights and collaborative execution.

This is a fulltime 24-month fixed term role based in Sydney with flexible hybrid working arrangements available.

What do I need?
We're looking for someone who brings:

  • Experience in banking or financial services, ideally within Risk, Group Treasury, or Finance with a strong understanding of risk management and the regulations applicable to banks.
  • Exposure to capital, recovery and exit planning, resolution planning, or stress testing processes would be highly regarded.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, with strong written and verbal communication skills, ideally demonstrated through experience with high profile projects.
  • Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver sustainable outcomes in a dynamic environment
  • A collaborative and accountable approach, with a passion for learning and continuous improvement

Why join us?
We're obsessed with becoming our customers #1 banking partner for life and we're looking for people who are passionate about helping us achieve that goal. In return we're committed to making Westpac the best place to work in the country. Here are just a few of the ways we're already doing that:

  • Flexible work arrangements to help you achieve a greater work/life balance, and a variety of leave options including Culture, Lifestyle and Wellbeing leave.
  • Tailored learning and development opportunities to help your grow your career within the bank.
  • Lots of opportunities to 'give back' to the Community by getting involved in our many volunteering initiatives
