Croydon Public School Canteen is seeking a reliable, energetic, and enthusiastic Canteen Assistant Supervisor to join our school community. This is a hands-on role supporting the daily operations of our school canteen, ensuring healthy, delicious, and well-portioned meals are prepared and served to students in a friendly and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing and cooking a variety of food items according to the menu and school guidelines
  • Portion and package meals and snacks for students
  • Serve food efficiently and cheerfully to children during break and lunch times
  • Assist with lunch preparation, including special orders and dietary needs
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and serving areas
  • Support the Canteen Manager in day-to-day operations

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment (Ideal but not essential)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Friendly, approachable, and professional demeanor, especially around children
  • Reliable, punctual, and well-organized

Working Hours:

Mondays 9am – 2.30pm

Tuesday 10am – 1pm

Wednesday 9am - 2.30pm

Opportunities for ad hoc shifts

In order to work on school ground the position requires

· Mandatory Working with Children Clearance

· A certificate in Food Safety (paid by P&C)
