The opportunity

We are seeking an experienced CA or CPA to join our CFO and Financial Solutions team in Brendale, Queensland. This role is a mid to senior level appointment, with scope for further development into a Partner position for the right person.

Our CFO and Financial Solutions team have a strong focus on delivering scalable, strategic financial solutions tailored to SMEs and growth-orientated businesses. This team functions as a fully outsourced finance department for clients, delivering everything from day-to-day bookkeeping to sophisticated CFO-level advisory services.

What this role looks like:

Your responsibilities will include:

Provide clients with accurate and reliable financial reporting

o   Ensure that material in reporting is accurate to promote client confidence to make informed decisions.

o   Manage allocation of workflows across your clients and balance capacity, workload and deadlines

o   Provide robust verification routines and reconciliation checkpoints into the reporting process to ensure financial statements are materially accurate.

Provide clients with  consistent and timely end of month reporting.

o   Formalise workflows and collaborate effectively with offshore team members to ensure timely delivery of services in high-pressured periods.

o   Provide consistent month-end reporting to strengthen SRJ Walker Wayland's reputation as a reliable virtual CFO partner.

Provide leadership, both externally and within the practice

o   Offer proactive engagement – through face-to-face or verbal conversations – to ensure clear communication of solutions and shield clients from operational complexity.

o   Provide calm leadership that reinforces SRJ Walker Wayland's professional reputation.

Focus on the continuous improvement of systems, processes, and team capability

o   Further enhance our CFO Solutions service model by broadening service offerings and embedding new technology and automation.

o   Deliver tangible quarterly improvements such as refined reporting templates, app upgrades, new KPI tools, and streamlined workflows to enable the team to benefit from smarter and more efficient practices.

o   Have a deep understanding with Xero, MYOB and associated applications

What we're looking for:

• Degree qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related field

• Professional qualification (CPA, CA or equivalent)

• A highly detailed background in financial management, gained through experience in an accounting firm environment, commercial organisations, or a combination of both

• Strong expertise in financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting,

• Extensive experience in providing financial analysis, recommendations, and advisory services to businesses across various industries
