Role Overview

This role is focused on the safe and timely collection of general/commingle waste from our clients across the Sydney Metro area. You will primarily operate an Medium Rigid (MR) truck with a rear-lifter mechanism.

After completing your route, you will responsibly and safely deposit the collected waste at designated transfer stations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive company vehicles (primarily MR truck) safely and efficiently along scheduled routes.
  • Operate waste collection mechanisms (e.g., bin lifter, compactors) and secure loads according to safety protocols.
  • Collect various types of waste from customer sites, ensuring proper handling and loading.
  • Conduct pre-start and post-start vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues immediately.
  • Maintain professional and courteous communication with customers and site staff.
  • Follow safe work practices and all company and road transport protocols strictly.
  • Accurately complete run sheets and all required documentation.

RequirementsEssential

  • Minimum MR Licence (valid in Australia).
  • At least 3 years of commercial truck driving experience (MR/HR preferred).
  • Proven ability to operate a truck safely and efficiently in busy urban environments.
  • Physically fit and confident in handling manual labour involved in waste collection.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively independently.
  • Current and valid Driver Licence (manual vehicle experience a plus).
  • Current Work Authorisation in Australia.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of Sydney metro roads and traffic patterns.
  • Experience in the waste management or transport logistics industry.
  • Familiarity with waste handling equipment ((rear lift).
  • HR Licence (to cover occasional HR routes).
