The Role

As a Senior Project Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering large-scale construction projects—supporting the Project Manager and leading the technical coordination, planning, and execution of engineering tasks. You'll work closely with consultants, subcontractors, and site teams to ensure delivery aligns with program, budget, and quality benchmarks, while mentoring junior engineers and driving a high-performance culture.

This is a full-time permanent position offering long-term career growth and exposure to major projects across residential and commercial sectors.

You You're an experienced construction engineer with a strong foundation in project delivery across residential and commercial builds. You combine technical rigor with practical on-site understanding and enjoy working as part of a high-performing, collaborative team.

You bring:

  • 5+ years' experience in a similar engineering role on multi-storey residential or commercial construction projects
  • Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Civil or Structural Engineering (or similar)
  • Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, WHS legislation, and QA/QC standards
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Experience preparing engineering documentation, project schedules, cost forecasts, and subcontractor scopes
  • Proficiency in project systems such as Buildlogic, Aconex, Procore, MS Project
  • Proven ability to manage variations, cost tracking, and reporting
  • Passion for mentoring and supporting junior engineers

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering delivery across all phases—from pre-construction through to handover
  • Oversee compliance with design specifications, codes, QA/QC, and WHS policies
  • Coordinate design development and resolve technical queries with consultants and subcontractors
  • Prepare and manage engineering documentation, samples, ITPs, and technical submissions
  • Drive procurement planning and trade package coordination
  • Track project progress, manage engineering deliverables, and maintain construction programs
  • Monitor cost forecasts, issue progress claims, and manage variations with the Project Manager
  • Mentor Project Engineers and Graduates, setting clear expectations and development goals
  • Lead technical meetings with clients, consultants, and contractors
  • Support project commissioning and handover, ensuring documentation is completed and accurate
  • Identify improvement opportunities and contribute to innovation across engineering delivery
