About the role

Based in our Head Office in Essendon Fields, an excellent career opportunity exists for an Electronics Technician who has a strong desire to contribute and participate in the exciting opportunities arising within a dynamic, technology business with growth and expansion plans.

Working collaboratively with key internal and external stakeholders, this position supports the design, assembly, testing, installation, and maintenance of electrical and electronic systems within Elenium's product range. This role assists in prototype development, production builds, and troubleshooting, ensuring all work meets quality standards and contributes to product reliability and performance.

Some domestic and/or international travel will be required for this role.

Some of the key responsibilities include:

• Assist with the electrical and electronic product assembly and component integration based on engineering design and specifications
• Support the production and testing of rapid prototypes, ensuring accurate builds for validation and trials
• Maintain electrical/electronic documentation
• Assemble and wire control panels, PCB assemblies and cable harnesses for production and prototypes
• Support the Production Team with tasks, when required.
• Assist in conveyor belt motion control system builds and adjustments
• Provide on-site and off-site installation and hardware support under engineer direction

Skills and experience

Experience

• Must be an Australian Citizen or have Permanent Residency.
• Certificate, Diploma or Trade qualification in Electronics, Electrical Engineering or related field
• 3+ years experience in electronics assembly, testing and troubleshooting

• Proficient in:

• Troubleshooting and repairing electronic/electrical systems

• AS/NZS wiring regulations and electrical safety practices
• Reading and interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams and technical drawings
• Using test and measurement equipment
• Manufacturing wiring harnesses and assembling electronic systems
• Soldering and PCB rework
• Prototype assembly and modification
• Must have and maintain a valid Passport with the ability and willingness to travel both domestically and internationally, when required.

Skills:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills and an ability to maintain excellent relationships with a range of key stakeholders, to include key decision makers.
• Good organisational skills with an ability to plan and prioritise competing work requirements and work towards tight deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high degree of attention to detail
• Adaptable and able to work autonomously and in dynamic, fast paced team environment.
• Proactive and reactive problem solving skills with an ability to "think outside the box"

Bonus Points for the Following:

• 24V DC Control System experience
• Previous experience in control panel wiring and assembly
• Knowledge of fault-finding techniques in both electronics and electrical systems
• Working understanding of ISO9001 for design and development activities
