Redbrick Coffee is a Canberra based specialty coffee company operating three venues as well as supplying coffee to cafes, restaurants and bars across Canberra. For us hospitality is all about community and relationships. At our Redbrick venues we carefully curate welcoming spaces for people to come together and enjoy our coffee and food. Our approach to food is collaborative. Redbrick's kitchen team works with local suppliers to create menus that offer refined classics with a focus on seasonality and sustainability. We believe that our food menu should be both exciting and approachable and most importantly, complement our extensive coffee menu.

THE ROLE

We are looking for an experienced Head Chef to lead our Kitchen team at our venue Redbrick Coffee City. We have been operating successfully in this space for the past 5 years, and are looking to build out and grow our current offering. Our kitchen team is both dynamic and diverse and they have a high attention to detail with both the menu that they skilfully execute for the venue, as well as the baking and catering aspects of the business.

This position will lead our small kitchen team and manage the day to day operations of the business including; rostering, ordering, covering shifts, changing menus, reviewing costs, interviewing and hiring staff, training, and executing events within the space. Whether you have experience in restaurants or cafes, we are looking for an individual who can use their skills to lead the kitchen in the different aspects of the business, and continue our reputation of high quality food and hospitality.   • Have previous experience leading in high-volume café / restaurant kitchens.
  • Can communicate effectively with a diverse team of colleagues.
  • Are passionate about food, people, hospitality and experiences.
  • Can successfully lead and build collaboration within a team.
  • Love working in a fast-paced environment, but are uncompromising when it comes to quality.
  • Can understand and comply with WHS standards and food safety requirements

Desirable but not essential…

  • Experience with Modern Australian breakfast cuisine.
