Data Engineer | Hybrid (Melbourne)
We are partnering with a fast-growing technology organisation that is building out its data capability and looking for talented Data Engineers to join their team. The Opportunity
As a Data Engineer, you'll be designing and building pipelines, developing scalable data platforms, and enabling analytics and AI-driven insights. Projects will give you exposure to tools such as Google BigQuery, Dataflow, Looker, Vertex AI, Python, SQL, dbt, and Snowflake. You'll collaborate with analysts, ML engineers, and platform teams to ensure systems are reliable, secure, and optimised. Work will include greenfield AI development, machine learning platforms, and enterprise-scale data initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Design and build data pipelines to ingest, transform, and load data; set up and optimise data lakes and warehouses; ensure systems are secure, cost-effective, and scalable; collaborate across teams to deliver integrated solutions; contribute to data governance and information security practices; and stay up to date with the latest tools, platforms, and engineering approaches.
About You
We are seeking someone with 2–7 years of experience in data engineering, with strong skills in SQL and hands-on experience in Python, dbt, or Snowflake. Familiarity with at least one cloud platform is essential, with GCP experience highly regarded (AWS or Azure also valued). A relevant degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or similar is preferred. Most importantly, you'll bring curiosity, critical thinking, and the drive to keep learning and experimenting.
