Title: Vice President - R&D - Statistical Genetics

POSITION SUMMARY

SeonixBio is a rapidly growing company seeking to transform the management of eye disease globally using state of the art genetic testing. Our first polygenic risk score service, SightScore, empowers clinicians in ophthalmology and optometry to identify patients at risk of Glaucoma and Glaucoma worsening so they can be treated sooner and vision can be protected. SightScore is based on world-leading research, published in top tier journals, and is already accredited and on-market in Australia and the US.

We are seeking a talented VP – R&D – Statistical Genetics to:

·       Lead and grow an R&D team

·       Develop and validate polygenic risk scores and associated pipelines for a variety of clinical applications

·       Develop and validate predictive models that combine genetic data with other clinical measurements and risk factors

·       Develop technical strategies and infrastructure for next generation sequencing

·       Analyse and interpret complex clinical study data

·       Document validation work to support regulatory submissions

·       Work with, and present to, our pharmaceutical and academic partners and clients on a range of projects

The successful candidate will report to the CEO and will work with our Scientific Advisory, statistical genetics, software and clinical service teams. Our leadership team has a track record of building businesses that change clinical care globally, and our Scientific Advisory team is composed of leading academics and clinicians in the area.

The role is full-time, though part-time would be considered for the right candidate. Remote work is possible, but candidates should be based in Australia.

REQUIREMENTS

·       Ph.D. in a relevant discipline

·       Leadership experience or strong potential

·       Strong statistical genetics / bioinformatics skillset, including coding

·       Experience in polygenic risk scores and statistical analysis of data

·       Strong written and verbal communication skills
