Eric Jones Stairbuilding Group is an Australian family owned business which has been leading the Victorian staircase manufacturing industry since 1947. We specialise in timber/steel residential and commercial staircase construction, and take pride in our reputation for quality, reliability, and service.

We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and motivated Wood Machinist to join our team. In this hands-on role, you'll be responsible for preparing high-quality, bespoke timber components used in the production of architectural designed stairs and balustrades.

What you'll be doing:

  • Operate a range of woodworking machinery with precision and care, including saws, planers, routers, and lathes. Select and prepare timber for machining.
  • Read and interpret drawings and cutting lists to ensure accurate manufacturing of timber components.
  • Work collaboratively with the Production Team Leader and the Production team to ensure efficient and timely completion of projects
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to all relevant safety protocols

What we're looking for:

  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience as a Wood Machinist or in a similar role within the Timber industry
  • Proficient in the use of a wide range of woodworking machinery
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality craftsmanship
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • A forklift licence would be an advantage
