Your role
Are you ready to play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality advice to key decision-makers? This is an exciting opportunity to lead the preparation of complex ministerial correspondence in a high-profile, fast-paced policy environment.
What you'll do
As part of the Briefings and Correspondence Preparation Team within Division Support and Public Accountability, you will coordinate and prepare well-researched responses to complex ministerial correspondence and briefs.
You will provide expert advice, manage key projects, and support the oversight of court cost payments under the Criminal Procedure Act 1986.
You will also:
- Guide and mentor staff to ensure a collaborative and inclusive team culture.
- Manage the preparation and coordination of responses to high-volume campaign correspondence.
- Support the Manager with work allocation, team workflow and performance oversight.
- Lead or contribute to improvement initiatives that enhance team resources and systems.
- Deliver training to new team members on correspondence standards, processes, and protocols.
- Monitor advice timeframes and proactively follow up to ensure timely delivery of responses.
- Build effective relationships across the department and government to support accurate, timely advice.
- Work as part of a supportive and collaborative team committed to excellence in communication, working in a dynamic and inclusive office environment where your expertise is valued.
What we're looking for
- Strong written communication skills with experience preparing complex correspondence, briefs, or policy documents.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Well-developed stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills across varied internal and external partners.
- Proven experience coaching and supporting staff in a collaborative and high-performing team.
