FUNCTION:
Responsible for performing tasks related to trade competence. Responsible for performing tasks as directed by the Chief Engineer or his replacement. Expected to "Take Charge" and show initiative in all aspects of the Engineering Department and Hotel operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Primary duties will include all aspects of patching and painting.
- Anticipate and attend to the guest's needs and desires immediately.
- Undertake tasks in accordance with the Work Request System, Preventative Maintenance Program, and/or verbal requests from the Maintenance Supervisors/Managers.
- Work with the other members of the Maintenance team and assume responsibility for the work and the work assignments undertaken.
- Acquire the knowledge necessary to undertake the trade job requirements as they relate to the systems mentioned above.
- Perform all necessary work and assume responsibility for work related directly to the individual's trade qualifications.
- Respond to and carry out all inter-departmental or guest requests concerning defects, repairs and/or general assistance. When defects or repairs are outside their capabilities they will communicate directly with the appropriate trades person or in his absence the Assistant Maintenance Manager. They are to follow up until action has been taken.
- Maintain your self appearance in accordance with the hotel's grooming standards.
- Maintain a harmonious relationship with other members of the service team.
- Comply with all of the hotel's operational policies & procedures.
- Maintain a clean & safe working environment.
- Have a full knowledge of, and practice all of the hotel's established occupational health and safety guidelines (OH&S).
- Ensure the protection and maintenance of all operating equipment.
- Complete all assigned opening and closing duties.
- Give assistance to other departments or outlets when required.
- Attend all scheduled meetings.
- Perform any other duties as directed by supervisor/manager.
