Apply your knowledge of cultural beliefs, practices and protocols to connect Aboriginal children and adults with oral health providers.
Oral Health Services provides free public dental care to children through school-based and community clinics, and remote health centres and remote services.
As the Aboriginal Liaison Officer, you will contribute by providing a liaison service and advice on culturally appropriate provision of oral health care and promotion to Aboriginal people in Central Australia and the Barkly region. This includes acting as the link between Aboriginal children and adults, communities, schools, Flynn Drive Dental Centre (FDDC) and in remote locations to assist with transport, coordination and support of clients requiring oral health care.
Ideally, you require demonstrated knowledge of cultural beliefs, practices and protocols relevant to Central Australia, good communication and computer literacy skills and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality. The ability to communicate and interact effectively, perform administrative duties and a willingness to travel by light aircraft or 4WD vehicle to remote communities.
In return you will receive a competitive remuneration package inclusive of 12% superannuation, 6 weeks annual recreation leave, 3 weeks personal leave, 17.5% annual leave loading and flexible work agreements.
