Engineering Manager – PHP & Java Teams  Lead, innovate, and scale cutting-edge tech

My client - a Real-Time Payments solutions provider is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead their PHP and Java teams, driving innovation, delivery, and excellence across a rapidly scaling product platform.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead and inspire talented PHP & Java developers, mentoring and growing high-performing teams.
  • Own the roadmap delivery — from planning and execution to deployment and post-release support.
  • Shape architecture and best practices across PHP and Java systems while keeping quality, security, and scalability top of mind.
  • Collaborate across functions with product, QA, DevOps, and security to accelerate delivery and impact.
  • Drive continuous improvement in processes, tooling, and team performance.

What You'll Bring

  • Proven experience leading multiple engineering squads (on & off-shore)
  • Hands-on coding experience with PHP frameworks and Java/Spring Boot.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes), and cloud platforms.
  • Strong understanding of web architectures, APIs, and enterprise integrations.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience managing stakeholders.
  • A collaborative, problem-solving mindset with a passion for scaling teams and products.
