An exciting opportunity exists for two talented and passionate individuals to join the Social Policy Group, Multicultural Affairs Branch, as a Grants Program Officer at the Department of Premier and Cabinet.
We have two Fixed-term 12 month positions on offer.
Multicultural Affairs works in partnership with Victoria's diverse multicultural communities and brings together all the policy functions and program activity areas that drive the Victorian Government's policy agenda and commitment to fostering an inclusive, engaged and harmonious multicultural community in Victoria. The Division has two branches: Programs and Partnerships, and Policy.

As a Grants Program Officer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting all stages of grants delivery working across festivals, events, infrastructure, capacity building and other programs and/or initiatives to be implemented in response to Victoria's Multicultural Review recommendations. To be successful in the role you will have highly developed stakeholder engagement skills, a passion for systems, process and program improvements and the ability to work flexibly across multiple priorities and teams. Ideally you will have strong experience with grant management databases and Victorian Government briefing and correspondence systems.

The successful candidate will demonstrate sound grants management and analytical and problem-solving skills to support the delivery of grants programs. This role will also require effective communication, stakeholder engagement and project management skills to deliver high-quality briefs, and written advice for active grants managed by the team.

To support business needs and team culture, the successful applicant will attend the office three days per week with current anchor days on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The third day of attendance will be agreed with the Manager on commencement.

About You
As our ideal candidate, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience supporting the delivery of grant programs in a dynamic and complex environment with the ability to identify workable solutions to problems.
  • Excellent written communication skills and demonstrated experience preparing briefs, reports and correspondence on a range of complex and/or sensitive issues with high attention to detail.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and negotiation skills, with an ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse range stakeholders
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of Victorian government policies and processes relating to grant program management with keen attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Sound conceptual and analytical ability to deal with concepts and complexity comfortably.
  • Strong self-management skills including the ability to plan and prioritise work to ensure outcomes are achieved.
