Accounts Officer

The Accounts Officer role is responsible for managing the day-to-day transactional finance functions including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll processing and general administration. This role plays a critical part in ensuring financial accuracy and compliance while maintaining efficient financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable
- Process supplier invoices, ensuring correct coding and authorization.
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare weekly and monthly payment runs.
- Maintain accurate AP records including set up of new Suppliers.
Accounts Receivable
- Monitor debtor balances and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Allocate receipts accurately and perform bank reconciliations.
- Prepare AR reports and assist with credit control activities.
Payroll
- End-to-end fortnightly payroll processing.
- Maintain employee records and timesheets.
- Process superannuation, tax, and other deductions.
- Process Employee Reimbursement.
- Ensure compliance with payroll legislation.
General
- Assist with month-end reporting and reconciliation tasks.
- Managing Work Instruction Documentation for your Department.
- Provide backup and support to other finance team members when necessary.
Key Relationships
- Internal: Finance Team, HR, Department Managers, Employees
- External: Suppliers and Customers
Essential:
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in a similar finance role.
- Strong understanding of AP, AR, and payroll processes.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Desirable:
- Certificate IV or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Experience in a medium to large-sized business environment.
- Proven experience using Greentree ERP or equivalent will be highly regarded.
