About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Accounts Officer to join our support team on a Part-time base. This role focuses on managing the firm's financial systems, including trust accounting, payroll, invoicing, billing, debtors, and accounts receivable. You will work closely with the Practice Manager to ensure compliance, accuracy, and efficiency, while providing occasional administrative support.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage trust and office accounts, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
Process payroll, invoices, billing, and accounts receivable accurately and on time.
Reconcile accounts, prepare financial reports, and support audits.
Assist with system improvements, including the transition to Xero.
Provide clear, professional communication with clients and colleagues regarding financial matters.
Contribute to a supportive, collaborative, and flexible workplace culture.
Who We're Seeking
To excel in this role, you will have:
3–5 years' experience in bookkeeping/accounting, within a law firm (essential).
Strong knowledge of trust accounting and disbursement requirements.
Experience in payroll, invoicing, billing, and accounts receivable.
Familiarity with legal practice management software (experience desirable but not essential).
Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.
Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative and client-focused approach.
