Accounts Officer

The HMC Group isseeking to appoint an Accounts Officer for parental leave cover starting November 2025 for a 12 month period. Based in our Rivervale office, this full-time position is responsible to manage the daily financial operations of the company including accounts payable, account receivable, credit card reconciliations and other financial administrative duties as required. The successful candidate will work closely with the Finance Department and other department to ensure smooth daily operations.

About the role

Accounts Payable

• Manage the Accounts Payable inbox and address all queries, including responding to supplier phone calls and emails.
• Processing high volume of invoices in including matching to purchase orders, distributing for approval, and processing of weekly/end of month payment runs.
• Complete filing of Accounts Payable records.
• Keeping and filing appropriate Accounts Payable records.

Accounts Receivable

Assist with various Accounts Payable duties as required such as:

• Entering customer invoices, payments and adjustments.
• Perform income reconciliations.
• Monitor and follow up on customer accounts and account discrepancies.
• Issuing of monthly account statements.

Other finance duties

• Responsible for the daily bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Manage intercompany invoice processing.
• Work with the management team and various departments in relation to best practice processes.
• Assist in internal and external financial reporting where required.

About you:

• A minimum of 3 years Bookkeeping or Accounts Payable experience.
• Strong computer literacy skills including Xero, Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to complete multiple tasks concurrently, within prescribed timeframes and with a high level of accuracy.
• The ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Well-developed problem-solving skills with a high level of initiative.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
