About The Role
We are seeking a qualified and motivated Scientific Officer to join our core clinical laboratory team. You will play a key role in the processing, analysing and reporting of patient samples, providing accurate and timely diagnosis to our doctors and patients.
Day to Day duties include:
· Promote and display our company values at all times
· Process a wide range of clinical specimens for transfusion, clinical chemistry and haematology
· Validation of patient results and contributing to value adding of reporting to assist our referrers and their patients
· Operate and maintaining laboratory equipment in compliance with NATA and ISO15189 standards
· Participate in quality assurance programs and continuous improvement initiatives
· Collaborate with pathologists and clinicians to support clinical decision-making
· Perform equipment/instrument maintenance and troubleshooting
· Participate in regular ongoing education sessions
Applicants should possess the following:
· Strong leadership and communication skills
· Tertiary qualifications in Medical Laboratory Science (or equivalent)
· Experience in a diagnostic clinical laboratory
· Strong understanding of infection control and quality control
· Excellent attention to detail, good communication and problem solving skills
· Flexibility with hours of work (early mornings, evenings, weekends etc) including participation on a rotational on call roster
· Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities
· Valid driver's license
· You must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident or a New Zealand citizen, or hold a valid visa with permission to work
