The Role

We are currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Financial Accountant to join the O'Brien team on an initial 2-year fixed term contract. Key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Performing month-end tasks and collaborating with the wider Finance team in completing month-end close
  • Support tax compliance, preparing the monthly BAS return, assisting Senior Financial Accountant in preparation of the FBT and Income Tax returns
  • Assist with audit queries, sampling requests and preparation of annual reports
  • Monthly preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring any variances are actioned and cleared each month
  • Stakeholder accruals at month-end and preparing month-end slideshow presentations to summarise financial performance
  • Processing entries and reconciliation between intercompany parties, including regular correspondence with accounting teams internationally

  • Degree Qualification in Commerce/Accounting
  • CA/CPA Accreditation
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar position 
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to meet all deadlines
  • Flexibility, adaptability and logical thinking in approach to tasks
  • Excellent and proven interpersonal, relationship building, and stakeholder engagement abilities
