To help us with our mission of making the Australian dream of home ownership, a reality for everyone, we are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join our team.

The Role

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Financial Accountant will manage the day-to-day financial accounting processes, including financial reporting, tax compliance and project accounting. This role is office based in the Sydney CBD.

Key Responsibilities

  • Day to day accounting entries
  • Preparation of annual financial statements
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Preparation of indirect tax compliance (GST, payroll tax, PAYG withholding)
  • Overseeing project allocation, including labour recharges and intercompany adjustments
  • Weekly cashflow reporting
  • Review and reconcile property sale settlement statements
  • Review of subcontractor claims
  • Maintenance of fixed asset register
  • Ad-hoc duties as required and directed by manager

Experience and Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Studying towards or qualified in CA/CPA.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar Financial Accountant or Assistant Accountant role.
  • Experience in the property development or construction industry preferred but not essential.
  • Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations).
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Able to meet deadlines.
