Chambers Civil Construction is seeking an experienced excavator operator to join our growing team in Sydney. This role is focused on operating a 5-tonne tracked excavator across a variety of civil works, including trenching, footings, service installation, and detailed earthworks.

You'll be part of a small, hands-on crew working on council, utility, and infrastructure projects throughout Sydney. We're looking for an operator who takes pride in their work, is safety-conscious, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate a 5T tracked excavator safely and efficiently
  • Conduct daily pre-start checks and basic maintenance
  • Perform detailed excavation including:
  • Hammering
  • Auguring
  • Trenching
  • Boxing out
  • Loading trucks
  • Follow site plans, supervisor direction, and all safety protocols
  • Assist with general site duties when required

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years' experience operating a 5T excavator
  • Proven experience with hammer, auger, and trenching attachments
  • Strong understanding of excavation safety and underground service awareness
  • White Card (Construction Induction) – essential
  • Current Excavator VOC / Statement of Attainment – required
  • HR Licence highly desirable (truck operation experience will be viewed favourably)
  • Ability to work independently and maintain a tidy, safe site
