Job Description

We are seeking a senior payroll professional to join our Payroll team at our Brisbane Corporate office, working in a hybrid environment. 

Reporting to the People Services Manager, the Payroll Administrator is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll for both mine site based and corporate employees.  This role plays a key part in ensuring compliance with Australian employment legislation, enterprise agreements, and company policies, while utilising SAP to manage payroll data efficiently and securely.

  • Manage end-to-end payroll operations for complex rosters and enterprise agreements
  • Respond to and resolve payroll related queries from employees and managers in a timely manner
  • Collaborate closely with HR and Finance teams to ensure data accuracy and alignment
  • Maintain and update payroll data in SAP HR/Payroll and interface with SuccessFactors
  • Drive compliance Fair Work National Act, National Employment Standards (NES) and relevant Enterprise Agreements
  • Prepare statutory reports including PAYG, STP, and superannuation submissions
  • Support internal and external audits with payroll documentation
  • Mentoring junior payroll staff and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in end-to-end payroll processing, ideally withing the mining or heavy industry sectors
  • Advanced user of SAP Payroll, and experience in SuccessFactors highly desirable
  • Strong working knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, including enterprise agreement interpretation
  • A collaborative mindset with a genuine interest in mentoring and supporting junior team members
  • Exceptional attention to detail, along with strong communication and problem-solving skills
