April5 is a brand experience agency, specialising in brand activation, experiential marketing and events. We are the trusted partner to some of Australia's largest brands.
April5's Creative Lead is a pivotal role at the agency, responsible for overseeing and directing the creative aspects of client projects and campaigns within an agency setting. You will be the driving force behind the creative vision, working closely with the Management Team, Account Service Team, our clients, and an external network of creative professionals to deliver compelling and innovative creative solutions.
This is a hands-on role working closely on both client and agency priorities in a fast-paced environment. Key responsibilities include defining creative direction, delivering on-brand strategic requirements, and fostering team coordination and collaboration.
To excel in this role, you will be results orientated, have a professional approach to everyday tasks, and strong focus on strategic creative delivery and innovation. The overall requirement is to balance client needs, support the Account Service teams and adhere to April5 processes, whilst being the agency's brand custodian.
This role is ideally suited to a mid-weight to senior graphic designer ready to step up into a senior role and expand their creative career.
Knowledge & Experience Required
- Minimum 6 years' experience in graphic design in a mid-senior role.
- Agency experience is essential - applications without agency experience will not be considered.
- Deep knowledge of creative processes including ideation, concept development, design, and execution to effectively deliver innovative and impactful creative solutions.
- Extensive experience in creative direction with a proven track record of successfully leading projects across branding, advertising, digital media, promotional and experience design.
- Excellent aesthetic sensibilities with a sharp eye for detail and strong command of typography, colour, and composition.
- Motion design skills desirable but not essential.
- Up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices, including AI tools for creative design.
- Committed to adhering to brand guidelines and ensuring brand consistency.
- Experience in tech, lifestyle and consumer electronics preferred.
- Knowledge of set/expo design is advantageous.
- Experience and confidence in client facing communication and presentations.

- Social media experience preferred (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn)
- Photo and video editing experience is necessary.
- Experience with website maintenance (Word Press preferred)
- Experience with AI tools.
