School Cleaner

We are seeking an experienced School Cleaner Team Leader for an immediate start to join our dedicated team at Georges River Grammar School in Georges Hall, NSW. In this full-time position, you will lead a team of cleaners to ensure our school campus is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation.

The suitable individual will lead a team of 4 part-time cleaners and work closely with the Operations Manager and Maintenance Team to ensure a high quality of cleanliness is maintained across the School.

• Team Management: Supervise and manage the cleaning team to ensure expected standards are consistently met
• Scheduling & Planning: Create daily cleaning rosters and coordinate holiday cleaning tasks
• Inventory Management: Order and maintain stock levels of cleaning supplies and equipment
• Staff Coverage: Arrange casual staff coverage when team members are unavailable
• Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with school staff, management, and external contractors as required
• Hands-on Cleaning: Perform cleaning duties both individually and as part of the cleaning team
• Waste Management: Coordinate daily bin emptying
• Emergency Response: Handle cleaning-related emergencies and incidents in accordance with school policies

Essential Requirements:

• Current Working with Children Check clearance in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act 2012 (must be obtained prior to employment)
• Proven experience in team leadership and management
• High communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong time and work management skills with ability to meet deadlines consistently
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Desirable Qualities:

• Previous experience in school or educational facility cleaning
• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and capacity to work independently
• Strong organisational skills with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Commitment to maintaining safe and healthy work environments
• Sound judgment and ability to respond appropriately to different situations
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and safety procedures
