The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to join a leading and growing renewables business. Reporting to the Financial Controller this role will have full ownership of end to end financial reporting, multiple entity consolidations, tax, transactional accounting whilst gaining exposure to controls, treasury, financing structures and the executive leadership team.

The Challenge

Your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Providing technical accounting advice, managing the financial reporting process and implementing and overseeing an effective accounting controls framework.
  • Prepare the group consolidation across multiple entities, including intercompany eliminations, group adjustments and consolidated reports.
  • Collaborating with and mentoring the financial control team in order to ensure effective and accurate financial reporting and compliance with all financial regulations and procedures.
  • Prepare quarterly management accounts for lender reporting, and project financial reports for quarterly investment committee updates.
  • Play a key role in continuous improvement projects and system focused automation initiatives
  • Delivering month end, quarterly and annual reporting for internal and external stakeholders
  • Tax compliance for the group including income tax and deferred tax calculations, land tax, GST, FBT and supporting other tax workstreams as required
  • Coordinate and oversee the preparation of audit schedules, working papers, and supporting documentation. Lead interaction with auditors and responses to all queries

The Expertise

Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:

  • CA / CPA qualified with relevant financial leadership experience
  • Ideally Big 4 or Mid tier-chartered accounting experience prior to your successful transition into industry
  • Ability to be hands-on with proven experience driving financial performance across a team-oriented environment
  • Superior financial reporting and technical accounting experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with strong ability to collaborate with and influence internal and external stakeholders
  • Previous experience in a capital intensive environment will be looked upon favourably
