Dental Assistant – Asleep Dental (Portland VIC)

Casual | 20+ Hours/Week | Monday to Thursday

Based in Portland with Travel to Geelong & Melbourne (1–2 Overnight Trips/Month – All Expenses Paid)

Asleep Dental is expanding, and we're looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Dental Assistant to join our team.

About the Role

  • Part-time position: 20+ hours per week with potential to increase
  • Workdays: Monday to Thursday
  • Travel required: 1–2 overnight trips per month to Geelong and Melbourne – all travel expenses covered, including transport, accommodation, and meals
  • On-the-job training provided
  • Open to candidates 18 years and older – we value diversity across all ages
  • Position would also be suitable for someone finishing year 12 and looking for a gap year role or a jump start into the medical field

Key Responsibilities

  • Chair side assisting during dental and sleep dentistry procedures
  • Sterile setup and pack-down of treatment areas
  • Instrument cleaning and sterilisation in compliance with infection control standards
  • Reception duties including patient check-in, booking appointments, and managing records
  • Assisting with preparation and transport of equipment for mobile clinics
  • Providing compassionate support and care to patients before, during, and after treatment

What We're Looking For

  • Prior dental assisting experience is a plus, but not essential – we provide full training
  • A Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting is highly regarded, but not required
  • Current Drivers License required
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive, team-oriented attitude
  • Comfortable with travel and overnight stays when required
