Site-based Contract Specialist - 2/1 Roster - Client Side Role - Min 2 years work

Contract Specialist - Mining Construction (FIFO, Client-Side) rate $1200 per day + super

We're seeking a proactive and commercially astute Contract Specialist to join a major mining construction project in its early stages. This is a client-side, site-based role on a 2/1 FIFO roster, offering the chance to work across a diverse range of construction packages including Structural Mechanical Piping, Electrical & Instrumentation, and some earthworks.

About the Role

While commercial awareness is key, the focus is on contract administration and package-level delivery across multiple disciplines. You'll be embedded on-site, working closely with contractors and the project team to ensure smooth execution and compliance across all phases.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Administering contracts and managing progress claims and payments
  • Supporting the delivery of SMP, E&I, and earthworks packages
  • Reviewing contractor progress reports and conducting site surveillance
  • Managing subcontractor claims, variations, and final accounts
  • Advising the site and Perth-based commercial teams on contractual matters
  • Preparing reports and documentation to meet project timelines
  • Participating in meetings and supporting package coordination and issue resolution
  • Monitoring change control and entitlement processes

We're looking for someone who brings:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience (ideally some experience in a FIFO site-based role)
  • Previous experience of large scale construction projects in Australia
  • Strong understanding of multidisciplinary construction packages
  • Experience working with high-value contracts and tier one contractors
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to support and mentor junior team members
  • Full working rights (unfortunately we are not able to accommodate Working Holiday Visa applicants)
