Centacare is seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Risk and Compliance Officer to join our Quality, Risk and Governance Unit (QRGU). This is a pivotal role where you'll collaborate with operational teams across the organisation to strengthen risk and compliance practices and help embed our Quality, Risk and Governance Framework.
What you will be doing:
- Support service delivery teams by developing and reviewing policies and procedures that balance operational needs with regulatory requirements.
- Prepare for and support external audits and accreditation processes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date risk, compliance, and obligations registers.
- Assist in managing privacy and information release requests.
- Contribute to governance initiatives that drive service excellence and client safety.
- Provide mentoring and practical guidance to colleagues on risk and compliance matters.
What you will bring:
- Strong understanding of governance, risk management, and compliance systems.
- Confidence in providing advice and coaching to operational teams.
- Exceptional organisational and analytical skills, with a detail-focused mindset.
- Experience or knowledge of the community services sector—including disability, aged care, family services, or early education—will be highly regarded.
- Degree in law, health, social science or related field (highly regarded).
- Strong knowledge of NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Framework, Aged Care Quality Standards, and Human Services Quality Framework.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively and sensitively with clients, families, and guardians.
- Committed to achieving positive outcomes for clients with diverse and complex needs.
- Excellent organisational, time management, and decision-making skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
- Ability to obtain a driver's licence, Blue Card, NDIS Clearance, criminal history check, and work rights in Australia.
