THE ORGANISATION
Our client is a long established and respected financial services organisation, with a reputation for its focus on customer care. Following a recent merger, the organisation now employs around 200 people and is entering an exciting new era of transformation and growth.
With a strong regional footprint and a new CEO, they have a clear focus on digitisation, efficiency and culture in a rapidly changing environment.
THE ROLE
Reporting to the CEO and joining a small, collaborative executive team, the Chief People Officer (CPO) will shape and deliver the organisation's people strategy during a pivotal period of change and integration.
This newly created role will elevate an existing operational HR team of 3 into a strategic People & Culture function — driving organisational transformation, workforce planning, and capability uplift across the merged entity.
As a trusted advisor to the CEO, Board and Executive, the CPO will modernise people systems, champion performance and accountability, and embed a culture that balances care with results. Key priorities include:
- Leading cultural integration and unifying legacy teams post-merger.
- Driving workforce planning, redesign and efficiency improvements.
- Building leadership capability and a strong succession pipeline.
- Overseeing HR systems optimisation and digital enablement.
- Leading enterprise agreement negotiations and strengthening ER/IR frameworks.
- Coaching the executive team and shaping future workforce strategy.
THE CRITERIA
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Executive-level experience leading People & Culture functions in banking, financial services, or similarly regulated environments.
- A proven track record of driving transformation, cultural integration and workforce optimisation.
- Depth across organisational design, capability development and creating a performance culture.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, ER/IR, governance and APRA/ASIC compliance.
- Exceptional communication and influencing skills at CEO and Board level.
- A practical, hands-on style, with the courage to challenge and modernise legacy practices.
At Peoplecorp, we are dedicated to promoting diversity and inclusion in every recruitment process. We believe that a rich variety of perspectives drives innovation and success. We actively seek candidates from all backgrounds and encourage individuals of all races, genders, abilities, and experiences to apply.
