About the role:

As our Asset Planning – Project Officer, you'll play a key role in preparing and planning infrastructure works across a diverse portfolio including roads, paths, drainage, coastal infrastructure, carparks, bridges, public transport, and the airport.

You'll work closely with internal teams, consultants, and stakeholders to scope, design, and develop fit-for-purpose projects that align with the City's strategic goals and Project Management Framework.

What you'll be doing:

  • Collaborating with Asset Management Officers to analyse asset data and identify priorities.
  • Scoping and documenting infrastructure projects with precision and purpose.
  • Managing consultants and supporting design investigations and service locations.
  • Preparing cost estimates, grant applications, and statutory approvals.
  • Contributing to capital works planning and budgeting.
  • Providing technical advice and supporting community consultation processes.

What you'll bring to the role:

  • A degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Project Management, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of municipal engineering and public infrastructure.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with strong time management.
  • Understanding of WHS legislation and local government frameworks.
  • A current C Class driver's licence, White Card, and National Police Clearance.
