Occupational Therapist – Join Our Allied Health Team at UDC

We work with a wide range of NDIS participants from the age of 9 and above to improve their functioning, wellbeing, and create a meaningful change in their quality of life. We are dedicated to continuous improvement and using best practice approaches in all aspects of our work.
What You'll Do
- Deliver comprehensive OT assessments and develop tailored treatment plans.
- Work closely with the Clinical Lead to grow and shape UDC's OT services.
- Use your strong organisational skills to independently manage your caseload.
- Analyse and report on participant progress with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care.
- Champion continuous improvement and contribute to service excellence.
What does a day in this role look like?
Morning – You're out visiting a participant to check in on how your recent intervention is supporting them and their team. It's a chance to hear firsthand how things are going and what's working well.
Midday – Back at your desk, you document your visit and continue working on a Functional Capacity Assessment for a participant you assessed last week.
Afternoon – You join a stakeholder meeting with a participant's support team, collaborating on strategies to improve safety in their home while aligning support with their individual capabilities and needs.
What We're Looking For
Required:
- Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- 2+ years of experience working as an Occupational Therapist
- Clinical skills in assessment, intervention planning and implementation, and measuring effective outcomes
- Ability to consult with participants and stakeholders to complete Functional
- Capacity Assessments, Sensory Profiles, and other essential NDIS reports
- Ability to obtain and maintain a current Driver's License, Blue Card, NDIS Worker
- Screening Clearance, evidence of right to work in Australia, and a criminal history check
- Access to a consistently available insured vehicle to conduct appointments to your participants whenever one of the UDC fleet vehicles are not available
Strongly Desired:
- Well-developed clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills, with the ability to design and deliver effective therapy interventions.
- Proven experience building and maintaining positive working relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Previous experience supporting participants with sensory disabilities.
- Solid understanding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) framework.
- Awareness of the disability sector, including Disability Services Standards, or the ability to access and apply this knowledge when required.
