Employment Support Worker – Gardener

Location: Alberton, SA | Work Type: Part-time

About the Role

As an Employment Support Worker, you will guide, and mentor supported employees as they complete gardening and maintenance tasks. This is a hands-on, team-based role where you will provide both practical help and encouragement to ensure tasks are completed safely efficiently and to a good standard. You will work as part of a friendly, collaborative team, providing one-on-one and small group assistance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist supported employees as they complete gardening and yard maintenance
  • Help prepare and set up equipment, ensuring it is safe and ready to use
  • Ensure workplace safety requirements and workplace procedures are followed
  • Provide hands-on coaching and encouragement
  • Monitor task progress and quality, ensuring great results
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and empowering work environment

What You Will Bring

We are looking for someone practical, compassionate, and committed to making a difference. If you love gardening and helping others grow – both plants and people – you will thrive in this role.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Certificate III in Community Services or equivalent experience
  • Current Driver's Licence (essential)
  • Senior First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • DHS NDIS Worker Screening Check (essential)
  • Experience working with people with disability or in trade/manual labour roles (desirable)
  • A genuine interest in gardening and working with people of all abilities.
  • Basic gardening skills or landscaping skills (experience preferred, but not essential)
  • Patience, reliability, and excellent communication skills
  • A collaborative, team-oriented mindset
  • Willingness to work outdoors in varying conditions
