Goods Receipt Co-ordinator

POSITION SUMMARY

• Responsible for the efficient and accurate recording of all data capture procedures related to goods received (seafood consignments / shipments) for auction presentation or other forms of sale in accordance with the Company's Quality Assurance and HACCP (Food Safety) systems
• Assist in the unloading, sorting and grading of product as required or directed by the Team Leader

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Accurate and efficient entry of data related to seafood consignments, including delivery details, product specifications, weights, grades, and number of units received by packaging type
• Verify product information matches consignment documentation (reconcile manifests), recording any non-conformances or variations against prescribed specifications
• Preparation of daily auction catalogues in advance of pre inspection by Auctioneers and Quality Assurance Officers
• Undertake compliance activities in accordance with the Company's Food Safety system, including monitoring of temperature and other related requirements
• Support the Goods Receipt team with the unloading and sorting activities as required, including re-icing product where necessary
• Assist with Seafood species and quality identification as skills and knowledge develop
• Provide timely and effective support to the Sales Support Team to resolve queries
• Contribute to a safe working environment by following Company safety practices and procedures, supporting and encouraging colleagues and others working in the Operations area to do the same, and identifying and addressing potential hazards, and reporting any breaches or unsafe practices in line with Company protocols
• Provide support to Operations, Auctioneers and QA teams where applicable
• Perform ad hoc requests and other duties as you are qualified and suitably trained to undertake
• Represent Sydney Fish Market in an informed manner showing the highest level of customer service to visitors and internal and external customers
• Monitor and maintain compliance with all aspects of the QHSE Management System and ensure all legal and other government obligations are met or exceeded
• Comply with the Company's QHSE policies and programs. This includes, but is not limited to, reporting all accidents, incidents and safety hazards; minimizing environmental impact when necessary; and ensuring work functions comply with food safety procedures developed to meet the compliance of relevant FSANZ and Export standards.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Previous experience in data entry, administration, or record-keeping (experience in seafood, fresh produce, or food wholesale preferred)
• Knowledge of fish and ability to identify species and quality of fish is desirable
• Familiarity with food safety systems, HACCP principles, or Quality Assurance programs highly regarded.
• Good oral and written communication
• Excellent keyboard and computer skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
• Strong Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy is essential
• Flexibility to work variable working hours in line with auction schedules and cover absences of other team members

WORKING CONDITIONS

This role may be physically demanding and includes working in cold environments, standing on concrete floors for long periods and walking on wet surfaces. It requires the use of appropriate personal protection equipment and involves repetitive movements and lifting and carrying of heavy containers is a common activity. Hours can consist of night shift work, late nights and early mornings. Sunday rates apply.
