About Us
Rocks Property Group is a privately held development and investment company with a growing portfolio of residential and commercial projects across NSW. We currently have six projects ready to commence, and are building out our internal team to support ongoing development. All projects are managed and delivered in-house, offering direct involvement in exciting developments and long-term growth potential.
The Role
We are seeking a Town Planning & Development Assistant to provide support with planning, subdivision, and development applications for our portfolio of projects. This is a hands-on role working within a small team of four, with opportunities to grow as the business expands.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and submission of Development Applications (DAs), subdivision approvals, and associated planning documentation.
- Liaise with local councils, planning authorities, and external consultants to progress approvals.
- Support in compiling, reviewing, and lodging documentation for planning and compliance.
- Provide input into subdivision layouts, zoning compliance, and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with heritage approvals and liaise with heritage consultants where required.
- Coordinate with environmental consultants for required surveys and reports.
- Maintain project documentation and ensure compliance with NSW planning frameworks.
- Work collaboratively with the internal team to support property development from early planning to approval stages.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in town planning, development, or property subdivisions within NSW.
- Strong understanding of council DA processes, zoning, and subdivision regulations.
- Experience with heritage projects and heritage approval processes highly regarded.
- Ability to liaise with consultants (environmental, surveyors, heritage, etc.) and coordinate reports.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a small team and contribute across multiple active projects.
- Tertiary qualifications in Town Planning, Urban Planning, Property Development or a related field desirable.
