Location: Fleurieu Peninsula SA (Flexible/Remote, with Regional & Interstate Travel)

Salary: $90,000 – $100,000 + Super + Travel & Communication Allowances

Fleurieu Peninsula Tourism (FPT) is seeking a dynamic, experienced leader to join our team as Regional Tourism Manager. This pivotal role combines strategic vision, industry partnership, destination marketing, and operational excellence, shaping the future of tourism across one of South Australia's most beloved regions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead delivery of the Fleurieu Peninsula Regional Tourism Strategy, working with the Board and key partners.
  • Grow the visitor economy, champion industry development & capability, and manage regional marketing initiatives.
  • Build stakeholder relationships with councils, SATC, Tourism Australia, and wine and tourism associations.
  • Oversee website and social media, ensuring alignment with state and national platforms.
  • Manage FPT's operations, finances, reporting, and governance.
  • Pursue new funding and sponsorship opportunities.
Selection Criteria

Essential:

  • Proven experience in tourism, economic development, destination marketing, or a related field.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects from concept to delivery.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Financial literacy and experience managing budgets and reporting.
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
  • Understanding of tourism distribution systems and marketing channels.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in tourism management, economic development, or destination marketing roles
  • Valid Australian driver's licence and ability to travel regularly throughout the region

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Fleurieu Peninsula visitor economy.
  • Experience working with boards and not-for-profit organisations.
  • Familiarity with government processes and funding agreements.
