Our client, a highly regarded boutique commercial firm is seeking a talented Senior Associate (or experienced Associate ready to step up) to join its commercial disputes practice in Melbourne.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with a partners and team of junior and mid-level litigators in a truly collaborative and supportive team. The firm is known for its excellent training and resources and commitment to professional development. For this role, they can offer a good partner track for a senior candidate at the right level who looking to make that step in time.

The team embraces flexible working practices (most lawyers in the firm work 3 days in the office and 2 at home) and will consider both full-time and part-time candidates who bring strong technical skills, strong experience running disputes autonomously and a proactive, commercial approach to disputes.

The work on offer is varied and high quality with clients across a broad range of industries. You will have plenty of opportunities to play a leading role on multi-million dollar Federal and Supreme Court matters, including:

  • Consumer law disputes
  • Franchising disputes
  • Commercial property and construction disputes
  • Contractual matters
  • Shareholder and director disputes
  • Liability claims, including product liability and professional negligence

You'll need:

  • 4+ years' PQE with strong experience in commercial disputes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong technical and strategic thinking skills
  • Ability to manage large and small matters autonomously and supervise juniors where required
  • Excellent client relationship skills.
